Vexa PDF privacy policy

Vexa PDF is provided under the developer name Therojc Apps. For privacy questions, contact therojc@gmail.com.
Your documents and local processing
Reading, annotations, form filling, handwritten signatures, page organization, merging, splitting, password protection, compression and supported conversions are processed on your device. Vexa PDF has no developer-operated document upload service, document cloud or user account. The library stores private local copies; editing creates a separate copy and does not overwrite your source.
Local library PDFs are not an encrypted vault. Protect PDF creates a separately encrypted PDF using the password you enter twice. Passwords are used in memory and are not intentionally stored in preferences, saved screen state or diagnostic reports. They must be entered again after process loss. An unlocked or otherwise unprotected exported copy has no password protection. Keep passwords securely: Vexa cannot recover them.
Camera, scanning and file access
You choose files through Android’s document picker. This can include local storage or a provider such as Google Drive or OneDrive. Vexa reads the selected files and may retain the granted access permission for reopening. It does not request broad access to all files.
Scanning uses the Google Play services document scanner. Vexa does not request its own camera permission; the scanner handles camera access, review and consent through Google Play services. Scanner components may need a network download before first use. You choose which scan is returned to Vexa.
OCR and Google SDK diagnostics
Text recognition uses a bundled Latin-script ML Kit model on the device. The app’s 32 interface languages do not mean OCR supports every writing system. OCR can make mistakes; check important text against the original.
According to Google, ML Kit does not upload its input images or recognized text to Google servers. Its SDKs do send technical usage and performance metrics and may contact Google for updates. These metrics may include device and application information, installation or device identifiers, processing configuration, input/output sizes, timings and error codes. See ML Kit privacy information, ML Kit data disclosures and Google’s privacy policy.
Vexa has no separate advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDK. The application does not add document contents, OCR text, signatures, passwords or filenames to telemetry. Android and Google Play may separately collect diagnostics under your device and Google settings.
Sharing, saving and printing
When you choose Share, Save a copy or Print, selected content and its filename can be sent to the app, storage provider or printer you select. Their policies and retention practices apply. Cloud file providers may transfer selected files over a network. Portable library exports are ordinary ZIP files with selected PDFs and reading metadata; they do not contain private drafts, reusable signatures, purchase credentials or encryption keys.
System printing uses Android’s selected print service. Direct printing sends the chosen document or rendered pages over the network to your configured printer. IPPS uses certificate-validated TLS. IPP is unencrypted and requires an explicit warning when adding the printer. Printers may retain documents or job records. A submitted job does not prove that paper was printed.
Google Play purchases and trial
Google Play processes the one-time Vexa PDF Pro purchase. Vexa does not receive your payment card details. It stores a signed purchase receipt locally to verify access and support use during temporary connectivity problems. Google Play purchase queries restore ownership and remove entitlement when a current successful inventory shows no active purchase. The app does not create a subscription or automatically charge when the seven-day trial ends.
Trial timing is stored locally without a hardware identifier. Restarting the app does not restart the trial. Clock rollback protection can end a trial if time moves backwards across a device reboot. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes this local state; there is no server account tracking trial usage across reinstallations. Existing local documents remain readable and exportable after trial expiry. Clearing data or uninstalling also removes those local copies, so export important documents first.
Retention and deletion
Library copies, document names, bookmarks, reading positions, settings and purchase evidence remain in private app storage until removed, app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled. Saved signatures and form/annotation drafts use a device-held encryption key. Removing a saved signature does not erase marks already placed in a PDF. App backup is disabled. Temporary files are removed after completion when possible; interrupted-job leftovers are eligible for later cleanup, normally after 24 hours. Android may clear cache earlier. Print history stores printer identity and job status locally.
Use the document menu to remove a library copy. Exports, originals, shared files, printer records and copies held by another app are not removed by uninstalling Vexa; delete them with the relevant app or provider. There is no Vexa account to create or delete. Google retains purchase and service records under its own policies.
